GWA Coalition
The Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition itself has had sixteen leaders participate in decisions on how best to step forward as a group. The first priority to publicly engage is to build an easy-to-use website that promotes artists and art organizations in our region. A website that serves all genres of the arts, an Art Trail Map that acts as a guide for anyone wanting to use an artist. That is the goal of Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition, a program that River Art Works hosts.
Mission
Our mission is to collaboratively promote awareness of the arts and the sustainability of arts organizations in the Westmoreland County region. The Art Coalition is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse creative community. We aim to empower artists, connect them with resources and opportunities, and advocate for the transformative power of art in society. Through collaboration, education, and advocacy, we seek to amplify the voices of artists, promote cultural exchange, and inspire positive change through the arts.Vision
Our coalition aspires to be a leading force in cultivating a strong arts landscape in the Westmoreland County, PA region. We aspire to be a place where creativity is celebrated, and art is a powerful catalyst for social change, acting as a bridge in the region’s cultures. We envision a future where every artist, art organization and art-based business thrive as a voice that welcomes new and original thoughts that help to build a resilient region. We envision our creatives leaping into new collaborations, developing new methods of creating that contribute to a global artistic dialogue. We envision our artists building successful and financially sustainable careers.
